The Crow River Builders Association held its annual
Tour of Homes Builders & Remodelers Showcase on March 21-22 and 28-29th, 2009.
There were 10 homes on the showcase that featured materials and craftsmanship from local builders. Hundreds of people viewed the homes free of charge.
A panel of judges from around the area toured the homes and chose the following as this year's People's Choice Award Winners:
 
Tour home located at 16305 441st Ave in Glencoe, submitted by Strongback Builders Inc, won the following awards:

Best Showcase of Trends: Use of 'green' technology; incorporating newer building practices to include the following areas: energy saving heating, cooling and lighting systems; plumbing fixtures featuring water conservation; safety - i.e. radon systems or hard-wired smoke detectors; 'smart' home technology; incorporating cutting edge interior finishes and fixtures into the interior design.
 
Best Interior Design: Durability and ease of maintenance on materials chosen; use of texture and colors to create interest; overall "WOW" factor as you walk through the home.
 
Strongback Builders Inc, located in Glencoe, is a design/build company leading the industry in high-quality custom-built homes. Owner: Mike Neyers.
 
Tour home located at 1008 Mitchell Court in Glencoe, submitted by Bergmann Homes, won the following awards:

Best Value: Best "Bang For The Buck"
 
Best Exterior Design: Durability and ease of maintenance on materials chosen; use of texture and colors to create interest; style and proportion appropriate for lot size and neighborhood; architectural features - i.e. roof lines, windows and doors; overall "WOW" factor as you walk up to the home.
 
Best Floor Plan: Best use of space that creates a free-flowing and usable home.
 
People's Choice Award: The favorite home on the tour as chosen by the panel of judges.
